Pay by phone casino deposits and where the winnings go
Phone-bill deposits work at 14 UK-licensed casinos listed here: the mobile network bills the deposit, and winnings go out to a card or another method on the account. Every phone deposit at these casinos carries a fee. ProgressPlay Limited’s deposit pages say “A 15% processing fee will be deducted from all Deposits made by PayviaPhone”
, and Jumpman Gaming Limited’s terms, under Pay by Mobile, say “All deposits incur a £2.50 transaction fee”
.
Pay by phone: deposits only, by casino name
Carrier billing: each deposit is added to the phone bill.

Times are the casinos’ own, quoted for the stage named; they are not test results. A record that prints no time or limit has no time stated for that method, or only a general timeframe, or no limit stated with its basis; it never means there is no limit.

Phone bill casino deposits and when payment falls due
The mobile network sets rules of its own, and Vodafone’s show what to look for. Citing the payment services regulation, its page caps charge-to-bill spending: “This limit is £40 per transaction and £240 in a single billing period”
. New pay monthly customers “need to wait up to three months”
before charging anything to the bill. A merchant may also limit spending itself. These are general Vodafone rules, and the page does not mention gambling.
On a monthly contract, a phone deposit joins the next bill and is paid for when that bill falls due. Vodafone’s Charge to Bill, for example, adds digital purchases to “your monthly Vodafone bill”
. Carrier billing, in the words of the payments company Fonix, “allows users to make purchases by charging payments to their mobile phone bill”
. Fonix lists “making cash deposits”
among the uses of its services, and Boku offers Direct Carrier Billing among its payment methods. Neither page names gambling.
On the casino side, ProgressPlay Limited’s sites call the method PayviaPhone, a deposit made “through billing by your mobile phone provider”
. Among Jumpman Gaming Limited’s sites, Wizard Slots takes phone-bill deposits “through Fonix”
.
Pay by phone fees between the bill and your balance

At ProgressPlay sites the fee comes out of the deposit itself, so the balance credited is smaller than the sum billed to the phone. The worked example below applies that clause to an illustrative deposit.
- The casino’s fee clause
“A 15% processing fee will be deducted from all Deposits made by PayviaPhone.”
read Source: Betmaze deposits page- Illustrative deposit
- £20
- Fee worked from the clause
- 15% of £20 is £3
- Left after the fee
- £17
The £20 is an illustrative sum, not a figure from the casino, and it doesn’t show that the cashier accepts that amount.
Jumpman Gaming Limited’s terms attach a flat fee to the Pay by Mobile item of their deposit list. In money terms, a percentage grows with the deposit, while a flat fee weighs most on a small one. Both operators state a deposit minimum, and the table prints Jumpman’s, which its terms set per transaction, beside each of its casinos. At that minimum, the flat fee takes its largest share.
Pay by mobile winnings through a second payment method
Pay by mobile winnings go to a second payment method on the account, because a phone bill cannot receive a withdrawal. ProgressPlay’s deposit page is blunt: “Pay via phone can’t receive withdrawals”
. Its terms send winnings to the method first used to deposit. Where that method cannot take a withdrawal, they go to “another payment method available to You”
. Jumpman’s terms state that withdrawals “cannot be sent to ‘Pay by Mobile’”
, though they can go “to any of the cards you have registered on your account”
. Fluffy Spins’ note on Mobile Pay (Fonix) names the step: add “a valid debit card”
or deposit with another method before withdrawing.
So have a debit card registered on the account before asking for a withdrawal. Card payout stages are set out on Visa debit cashiers.
Bill photo and ID to send before cashing out
A first payout after phone deposits can wait on proof of the phone bill and proof of identity. Jumpman’s terms accept documents at any time after registration, so gather them before the first withdrawal.
- At ProgressPlay sites, photograph a phone bill that shows the mobile number used at the casino and your full name.
- Deposit from a phone contract in your own name. Jumpman’s terms say every payment method
“must be owned by, and in the same name of, the person registered”
. - For Jumpman sites, have a driving licence or passport ready, with a recent utility bill.
- Upload them before asking for a payout, since Jumpman’s terms keep a withdrawal
“pending”
while documents are reviewed.
Complaint routes for a bill charge or a casino payout
A charge on the phone bill and a dispute with the casino follow different routes.
- Phone bill charge
- Ofcom counts gambling among premium rate services,
“content, goods, or services charged to a phone bill”
. It became the day-to-day regulator of phone-paid services when the PRS Order came into force on 1 February 2025. Vodafone says purchases from merchants that do not work with it directly“are regulated by Ofcom”
. Where a service broke the rules, the customer“can challenge this with the PRS provider”
. Ofcom itself“does not investigate or resolve individual complaints”
. - Casino fee or payout
- the casino’s own complaints procedure comes first. An unresolved complaint may then pass, after eight weeks, to a free and independent ADR (alternative dispute resolution) provider, and the casino should name it.
Casino deposit limits on phone bill payments
Once a deposit limit set at the casino is reached, the casino has to stop further deposits, by phone bill or any other method, until the period restarts. A network spend cap may not do the same: EE says its Spend Cap “can’t restrict”
charge-to-bill services. Commission standards require the casino to prompt for a limit at registration or at the first deposit. An increase needs a fresh confirmation after a cooling-off period. A reduction takes effect straight away. Set it at the first phone deposit, at a sum you can afford to lose.
